Fraser Valley Fury Junior Roller Derby is an amateur youth sports league that is community-based, diverse, and inclusive. Through playing roller derby, we are dedicated to teaching the importance of healthy body image, positive minds and personal empowerment.
As a league, we want to acknowledge with sincere gratitude and respect that we live and play within S’ólh Téméxw; the lands of the Stό:lō, who are Halq’eméylem speaking Coast Salish peoples.

Princess SlaYa
Roller derby taught me to take care of myself, both physically and mentally, and turned a bunch of different people into a real family. I’ve found mentors, people I look up to, and I’ve been playing since I was little—I honestly can’t imagine who I’d be without it. Roller derby is all about being unique, understanding, and passionate. It doesn’t offer much materially since it’s such a niche sport, so the people involved are there because it truly fills their hearts, attracting some really special people.

Fraser valley fury has been my home for almost 10 years now and it has helped shape me into the person I am today. Fraser valley fury has given me the opportunity to be myself in times when I wasn’t sure what that was , build my teamwork and leadership skills, and has given me a welcoming community of friends and mentors where we can all support eachother. Rollerderby helps me have the confidence to be who I want to be and has given me a safe space to come back to.

As a collection of parents, coaches and skaters, our league is committed to having a positive impact on all of the youth in our league. We ensure this through the unified vision of our leadership who have been trained in the importance of team building. Together, we work to develop strong communication skills in our skaters and we promote the value of diversity in our community.
